I am Dana Bennett. I write as D.A. Bennett and began writing during my final year in High School. First, poetry where I participated  in declamation festivals and placed first at city, state, and regional events. The success I achieved encouraged my interest in writing. My writing skills helped guide me through my college years.

I was born into a military family we moved quite frequently , 23 times in 26 years that my father served. My life experiences from family and my own service instilled a desire to read and explore the places I lived from Newfoundland to the summers I was able to spend in Louisiana. The adventures I describe for readers had to wait until the passion to tell and write stories finally overtook me.

My first book was published by Austin/Macauley, LIFE IS A STORY. It is comprised of a Novella titled Clyde and three (3) short stories. â€‹â€‹A good read and all that is written is honest and truthful except what is purposely not.

TESTIMONIALS & REVIEWS

Consisting of short stories, Bennett’s first book is a wild ride laced with distinctive characters whose experiences and actions are made all the more intense, emotional and harrowing by his well crafted storytelling. A great read and an excellent first book by Bennett.

Good read!! Dana was able to make the reader (me) 'feel the pain' and get emotionally involved. I wanted to help; to 'come to their rescue'! It takes a well written novel to get the hair on the back of my head to stand up...but 'Life is a Story' made it happen. It is worth the effort to aquire and read this book.

John L Hopkins, Amazon Review

I particularly liked.... "You ever been a hundred miles an hour in your life?...Slow her down. You've been there  now." A perfect metaphor for a young man racing toward manhood. Cheers.
